The Stockholm Court has announced the killing of Iraqi refugee Salwan Momika, 38 years old, on Wednesday evening. Momika, known for burning the Quran in Sweden, was shot dead in his apartment in the city of Södertälje.

Momika’s actions sparked widespread outrage due to his burning and desecration of the Quran, leading to protests and riots in several countries. Swedish authorities had been investigating him on charges of inciting hatred against ethnic groups.

The Stockholm Court also confirmed the postponement of the verdict in his case following verification of his death, according to reports from Swedish media.
