An official at Meta’s WhatsApp service revealed that Israeli spyware company Paragon Solutions targeted 90 of its users, including journalists and civil society members.

The official told Reuters on Friday that WhatsApp sent Paragon a cease-and-desist letter after detecting attempts to hack users’ accounts.

This incident raises growing concerns about privacy and security on social media platforms.
