Three people were killed and nine others injured in a fire that broke out on Saturday at a nursing home near the French capital, Paris.

The victims who died from smoke inhalation were aged between 68 and 96 years.

Among the injured were seven residents and two staff members from the nursing home, with eight of them being transported to various hospitals in the region.

The incident occurred in Bouvemont, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding it.
