Canada and Mexico have announced tariffs on the United States in response to tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that Canada is considering several non-tariff measures, including actions related to critical minerals and energy purchases.
Meanwhile, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned Trump’s accusations linking her government to drug trafficking, calling them “slander.”
These measures follow Trump’s order on Saturday to impose a 25% tariff on Mexican and Canadian imports, which will remain in effect until the national emergency regarding fentanyl and illegal immigration to the U.S. is resolved.
