Intense Airstrikes in Darfur Result in Dozens Killed and Injured

Dozens have been killed and injured in intense airstrikes carried out by army aircraft on the city of Nyala in Darfur, while eyewitnesses described the fighting that erupted in El Fasher as the fiercest.

Local sources reported that 24 people, including women and children, were killed, and more than 200 others were injured, some in critical condition, amid a severe shortage of medical services.

El Fasher, where the army still has a presence, has witnessed fierce fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which control more than 90% of the region.

Displacement operations from the city are ongoing, with the population now being less than one-fifth of the original residents.
