Syria: Saudi doctors and volunteers arrive in Damascus

The first Saudi medical team, comprising 61 doctors and specialists, has arrived in Damascus as part of a convoy of Saudi volunteers sent by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to Syria to support the country’s health sector and carry out delicate medical operations in a number of specialties.

Damascus International Airport received on Tuesday the first three volunteer campaigns in medical and general fields, out of 104 campaigns announced by KSrelief to be sent to Syria as part of the Saudi volunteer programme “Amal”, launched on Monday in Riyadh.

The Saudi doctors will be involved in preparing to carry out delicate and critical medical operations in coordination with the Syrian Ministry of Health.
