United States: Widespread Protests Against Trump’s Immigration Policies

Thousands demonstrated across the United States in protest of President Donald Trump’s campaign against undocumented immigrants.

On “A Day Without Immigrants,” many businesses, from daycare centers to grocery stores and hair salons, closed their doors in solidarity against Trump’s immigration policies.

In Los Angeles, crowds gathered for the second consecutive day, waving Mexican and Salvadoran flags and holding signs with messages such as “Immigration is the daughter of this nation” and “Abolish ICE.”

Since taking office, Trump has signed executive orders aimed at deporting large numbers of immigrants, leading to escalated raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
