Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said on Thursday that the movement is calling for an emergency Arab summit to confront the displacement project, stressing the importance of achieving Palestinian unity in the face of attempts to expel Palestinians from their land.

Qassem added in a statement that US President Donald Trump’s statements about deporting Palestinians from the Gaza Strip are “absolutely rejected” and that “Gaza is for its people and they will not leave it”.

On Tuesday, the US president said that the Palestinians have no choice but to leave the Gaza Strip, adding that the residents of the Gaza Strip remain there because they have no alternative.
