Al-Qassam Brigades mourns its deputy commander Marwan Issa

The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, mourned on Friday afternoon the body of Marwan Issa, its second-in-command, who was killed during Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Thousands of Palestinians took part in the funeral ceremony, which began at Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital in central Gaza, where the body was taken to the Bureij Camp Services Club for funeral prayers before being buried in the camp’s cemetery.

On 30 January, Abu Obeida, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, announced the death of the Brigades’ chief of staff, Mohammed al-Deif, and a number of commanders during the Israeli war on Gaza, most notably deputy commander Marwan Issa.

On 26 March 2024, the Israeli army announced that Issa had been killed in an air strike in Gaza.
