Israeli warplanes carry out violent raid on southern Lebanon

Israeli warplanes raided the town of Bissariyeh in the Sidon district of southern Lebanon on Friday, in an escalation of its ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.

The Lebanese News Agency (LNA) said in a brief report that a violent explosion was heard in the town of Bissariyeh – Tebneh locality, which turned out to be the result of an Israeli raid on the town.

On the other hand, the agency said that the Israeli army carried out two phases of explosions in the border town of Kafr Kila in southern Lebanon.

A ceasefire agreement between the Israeli army and Hezbollah ended mutual bombardment on 27 November.

The agreement included a 60-day deadline for Israel to withdraw from towns it occupied in southern Lebanon during the war.
