Tens of thousands of citizens gathered in the streets of Slovakia on Friday, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Robert Fico due to his shift towards closer relations with Russia.

The number of protesters in Freedom Square in the capital, Bratislava, was estimated to be over 42,000, reflecting widespread discontent with Fico’s policies and their impact on Slovakia’s position in Europe.
