Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday for an official visit.

According to the Algerian Foreign Ministry, the visit comes within the framework of the deep-rooted historical relations between Algeria and Syria that bind the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

The visit aims to explore ways of strengthening these relations and raising them to the highest level, in addition to reaffirming Algeria’s solidarity and support for Syria at this delicate stage of its contemporary history, the ministry said in an official statement.

During his visit, the Algerian minister will meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to deliver a written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
