The Israel Prison Service (IPS) on Saturday began releasing 183 Palestinian prisoners as part of the fifth instalment of the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel.

Associated Press reporters spotted a bus carrying dozens of Palestinian prisoners heading to the rendezvous point where their families, friends and loved ones were waiting for them.
The 183 Palestinian prisoners released today included 18 sentenced to life in occupation prisons, 54 with heavy sentences and 111 from Gaza who were arrested during the war.
