Palestine and Egypt have condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, deeming it a violation of the kingdom’s sovereignty.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the proposal as “racist and anti-peace.”
Hussein Sheikh, the Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization, asserted that “the State of Palestine will only be on Palestinian land.”
Netanyahu stated that “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has enough land to provide the Palestinians with a state,” calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state in the kingdom and adding, “We seek to achieve lasting peace in the region, and this proposal is part of our vision for the future.”
