Citizens of Kosovo went to the polls on Sunday in parliamentary elections reflecting economic and ethnic tensions.

Initial opinion polls showed the leftist Self-Determination Party, led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in the lead with 40.3% votes, followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 21.4%.

Forecasts indicate that Kurti may win a narrow majority, which could compel him to form a coalition with other parties.
