The Syrian news agency SANA reports that large military reinforcements have arrived at the border between Syria and Lebanon, amid a ‘security and military tightening along the Syrian-Lebanese border’.
The security and military tightening comes to prevent the smuggling of weapons, drugs and people wanted by the Syrian government, the agency said today.
The Lebanese army, for its part, sent reinforcements to the area after being ordered to respond to the sources of the fire.
The National News Agency reported that the Lebanese army sent military reinforcements to the Mashrouat al-Qaa area on Sunday after coming under fire from the Syrian side in Jussieh.
