The preparatory committee for the National Dialogue Conference has been formed with seven members and will be announced within hours, media sources said on Wednesday, citing official Syrian government sources.

The sources said the preparatory committee for the National Dialogue Conference includes five men and two women.

In his first speech as Syria’s president late last month, interim Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said he would work to form an inclusive transitional government that reflects the country’s diversity and build new institutions.
Al-Sharaa said in his speech that he would issue a constitutional declaration, announce a preparatory committee to select a small legislative council for the transitional period, and announce a preparatory committee for the Syrian National Dialogue Conference.
