Hamas delegation arrives in Cairo for talks on monitoring implementation of ceasefire agreement

Hamas announced that a delegation from the movement arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Wednesday for talks on the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners.

Hamas said in a statement that “a delegation headed by Dr Khalil al-Haya, head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, arrived in Cairo and began meetings with Egyptian officials to follow up on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners through technical committees and mediators.

On Monday evening, the military spokesman for the ‘Al-Qassam Brigades’ announced the postponement of the handover of the Israeli prisoners, who were due to be released next Saturday, due to repeated Israeli violations.
