Russia Rejects Zelenskyy’s Proposal and Washington Deems NATO Membership for Ukraine ‘unrealistic’

Russia has rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s land swap proposal, with Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stating that accepting the idea was “impossible” and asserting that Ukrainian forces would be “destroyed” or pushed out of occupied territories.

Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the U.S. administration does not view Ukraine’s NATO membership as a realistic outcome, emphasizing the need for Ukraine to prepare for a negotiated settlement with Russia.

This comes as Kyiv experienced a missile and drone attack that resulted in one death.
