German police reveal the identity of the suspect in the Munich car-ramming incident

A spokesperson for the German police said that the suspect in the car-ramming incident in Munich on Thursday is a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, and the incident resulted in at least 28 people being injured.
The incident occurred just before the general elections in Germany, where the issue of immigration is a key focus of candidates’ campaigns.
It is believed that the incident took place at Königsplatz Square in the city center, where protesters from the Verdi union were gathered.
Eyewitnesses also reported that police officers shot at the suspect and arrested him, while the incident took place near the Bayerischer Hof hotel, where the Munich Security Conference will be held starting on Friday.
