Brazilian prosecutors have accused right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro and 33 others of plotting a ‘coup’ to prevent left-wing president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva from returning to power after the 2022 presidential election.

It said in a statement on Tuesday that the former president and the other suspects ‘are accused of incitement to commit acts contrary to the three branches of government and the democratic state of law’, according to AFP.
