EU agrees to impose new sanctions on Russia

On Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agreed to impose new sanctions on Russia banning imports of aluminium from Russia and targeting Russia’s fleet.

This was stated in a post by the Commission’s President on the X-Platform, in which she explained that European Union States had reached agreement on the sixteenth sanctions package prepared on the occasion of the anniversary of the war between Russia and Ukraine on 24 February.
