The European Union intends to suspend certain sanctions imposed on Syria, including energy, transport, and reconstruction.

This topic is set to be discussed during a meeting of the foreign ministers of EU member states in Brussels on February 24.

A draft statement indicates that the European Council has decided to suspend some restrictive measures, as well as to facilitate financial and banking transfers related to these sectors.
