Morocco has prevented a delegation of European Parliament members from entering Western Sahara, detaining them at the airport on Thursday at 4 PM before deporting them to Spain.

The delegation, including MEP Iza Sira, traveled to verify compliance with a recent European Court of Justice ruling that annulled agricultural and fisheries agreements between the EU and Morocco.

The deported delegation included Portuguese MEP Catarina Martins and Finnish MEP Jussi Saramo, who were returned to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.
