More than 59 million German voters will cast their ballots on Sunday in an early general election.
A total of 59.2 million voters, including 30.6 million women, will take part in 299 constituencies to elect the new 630-seat Bundestag.
2.3 million young men and women will be voting for the first time in an election in which 7.1 million voters of foreign origin, including around one million of Turkish origin, will be voting for the first time.
There are 4,506 candidates from 29 parties, including 1,422 female candidates.
The lists of candidates include 53 candidates of Turkish origin from different regions and parties.
Four prominent candidates are vying for the chancellorship: Olaf Schulz of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Friedrich Merz of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Robert Habeck of the Green Party and Alice Weidel of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD).
