Hamas release first two Israeli hostages from Rafah with four more set to be freed unde

On Saturday, Hamas handed over Israeli detainees Tal Shoham and Avira Mengesto to representatives of the International Red Cross in Rafah, Gaza. He brought the hostage fighters to a podium, before handing them over to the representatives of the Red Cross.

The Israeli army later announced that it had received the detainees from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) after their release.

Hamas is preparing to release four other hostages in Nuseirat camp, as part of the seventh exchange since the ceasefire entered into force.

For its part, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club announced that 602 Palestinian detainees, including 50 life sentences, would be released. He added that 108 prisoners were to be deported outside Palestinian territory.
