Amid Israeli Airstrikes, Beirut Bids Farewell to Hassan Nasrallah in a Massive Funeral

Beirut witnessed a massive turnout of hundreds of thousands of Hezbollah supporters on Sunday morning to participate in the funeral of the party’s former Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the southern suburbs five months ago.

Coinciding with the funeral proceedings, Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon, a move observers considered a direct message to Hezbollah.

Israeli Army Radio claimed that the airstrikes targeted Hezbollah positions and rocket launch sites in the southern region.
