Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), accused of crimes against humanity in a 20-month war against the army, has signed a charter with allied political and armed groups to establish a “government of peace and unity.”
The signing ceremony took place behind closed doors in Nairobi, Kenya, though it remains unclear whether the document was signed late Saturday or Sunday.
The signatories reaffirmed their commitment to forming the government despite ongoing concerns from human rights organizations and the international community.
