Sudanese army announces control of Soba bridge south of Khartoum.

The Sudanese army announced on Monday that it had taken control of the strategic Soba Bridge on the Blue Nile, well south of the capital Khartoum.

The army and Sudan Shield forces have taken control of Soba Bridge and Soba East area far south of Khartoum,’ the army said in a statement.

RSF did not immediately comment on the Sudanese army’s statement.
Earlier on Monday, the army continued its advance towards the southern entrances of Khartoum, adjacent to the state of Al-Jazeera, and regained control of the Soba East area with the Sudan Shield Forces after fighting with the RSF.

This development comes as the army advances in several axes in Khartoum city and the East Nile area in Bahri city, which is a major RSF stronghold in the city.
