China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian told a regular press briefing today (Tuesday) that Canada’s move to impose sanctions on Chinese companies was illogical and completely wrong.
China strongly opposes this action and has lodged an official protest with the Canadian side,’ the spokesman said.
The spokesman’s remarks came in response to a question about Canada’s announcement that it had imposed sanctions on 76 foreign entities and individuals, including more than 20 Chinese entities, for allegedly supplying Russia with civilian and military dual-use goods.
China has always opposed unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and are not endorsed by the UN Security Council,” Lin said.
