Hundreds of Syrians demonstrated in March 18 Square in the centre of the southern city of Daraa, rejecting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements on disarmament.
On Sunday, Netanyahu said at a press conference: ‘We demand that the area south of Damascus be demilitarised.
He continued: ‘We will not allow the New Syrian Army to deploy in this area, and we will not accept any threat to the members of the Druze community in southern Syria,’ he claimed.
Hundreds of Syrians took part in a demonstration in Daraa’s 18 March Square to reject Netanyahu’s remarks, which they described as ‘blatant interference’ in their country’s affairs.
Participants held banners calling for an end to Israeli aggression, emphasising the unity of the country and rejecting partition.
