French Prime Minister François Bayrou announced on Wednesday that his country ‘will ask the Algerian government to review all the signed agreements and the way they are being implemented’, saying he would give Algeria ‘one month to six weeks’.
In the meantime, the Algerian government will be presented with an urgent list of people who should be able to return to their country,’ he added, announcing a ‘ministerial audit’ of France’s visa policy and stressing that Paris did not want an ‘escalation’ with Algeria.
