US Secretary of State Marco Rubio today (Wednesday) cancelled a meeting with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Policy, Siim Kallas.

According to DPA, the only explanation given for the cancellation was ‘scheduling issues’. No official information was provided and the US State Department did not respond to a DPA request for comment.

An EU spokesperson said that despite the cancellation of the meeting with Rubio, Callas would remain in Washington until Thursday.

Callas has also recently criticised US President Donald Trump’s plans to end the war in Ukraine.
