Curfew and Security Operations in Rural Damascus, Latakia, and Homs to Pursue Wanted Individuals

The Public Security Administration of the Syrian Transitional Administration launched a wide-scale security operation early Thursday in the Jdeidet al-Fadl area of western rural Damascus. This action follows a shooting incident at security checkpoints, resulting in the injury of two security personnel. The operation is part of intensified efforts to pursue cells affiliated with the deposed regime in the region.

In a related development, the Military Operations Administration announced the imposition of a curfew in the provinces of Latakia and Homs after widespread protests erupted over killings targeting members of the Alawite community. The curfew hours are set from 8 PM to 8 AM in Latakia and from 6 PM to 8 AM in Homs.

Additionally, significant security reinforcements have been dispatched to the Syrian coast, including fighters from Unit 82, the K9 Brigade, and elements from several brigades affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham. These forces aim to apprehend militants from remnants of the former regime who are feared to incite unrest in the demographically diverse region.

These security measures aim to restore stability and prevent any attempts to disrupt civil peace, especially amid tensions arising from recent events.
