Devastating Floods in Afghanistan Claim 39 Lives in Two Days

Southwestern Afghanistan has experienced devastating floods over the past two days, resulting in the deaths of 39 individuals, including children. Abdullah Jan Sayeq, spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Authority, reported that heavy rains and snow have caused significant human and material losses across most provinces.

These floods have destroyed numerous homes and infrastructure, leading to the displacement of hundreds of families and worsening humanitarian conditions in the affected areas. Rescue and relief teams are working to provide assistance to those affected, while authorities warn of potential additional flooding as rains continue.
