The Israeli occupation forces carried out a military incursion this Friday morning into the town of Al-Rafid, located in the southern countryside of Quneitra near the ceasefire line in the occupied Golan Heights.

According to field sources, Israeli military vehicles, accompanied by infantry troops, entered the outskirts of the town amid intensive reconnaissance drone activity. Military bulldozers were seen clearing agricultural areas, sparking anger among local residents.

This advance follows days of heightened security tensions in the region, with Israeli artillery shelling targeting southern Syria, claiming to strike armed groups posing a threat to the border.

The Syrian government strongly condemned the Israeli operation, calling it a “blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty” and warning of its repercussions on regional stability.
