During his visit to the Lebanese border with the occupied Palestinian territories, newly appointed Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called for an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese lands, emphasizing the government’s commitment to rebuilding border villages and ensuring the safe return of residents to their homes.
The Lebanese Prime Minister toured areas along the border that suffered extensive destruction during the 14-month war between Israeli occupation forces and Hezbollah.
Salam’s visit came after his government received the confidence of Parliament, where members of the Hezbollah bloc supported the new government policy statement, which stated that the national army is the only authority authorized to defend the country in the event of war.
