The Oval Office at the White House witnessed a strong verbal confrontation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During their remarks to the media, the two presidents exchanged sharp tones. Trump warned Zelensky against “igniting World War III,” emphasizing the need to reach an agreement. Trump also addressed Zelensky: “Your statements lack a great deal of respect.”
For his part, the Ukrainian president affirmed that “Putin is the one who started the war, and he must bear the consequences.”
Zelensky left the White House early after the tense meeting, and the press conference that was scheduled between them was canceled.
