A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck western Chile today, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The tremor occurred approximately 859 kilometers west of Puerto Montt, with a depth of 33 kilometers. Authorities have not reported any casualties or significant damage at this time.

Chile, located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, frequently experiences seismic activity due to its position on the boundary of tectonic plates. Despite the earthquake’s moderate magnitude, no tsunami warning has been issued.
