China’s Ministry of Finance announced today, March 4, 2025, that it will impose additional tariffs ranging from 10% to 15% on a selection of U.S. products, effective March 10.
This move comes in response to recent trade measures taken by the United States against China, where Washington imposed a 10% tariff on Chinese goods.
The new Chinese tariffs include a 15% levy on U.S. coal and liquefied natural gas imports, as well as a 10% tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery, and certain large vehicles and pickup trucks.
This latest escalation is part of an ongoing series of retaliatory measures between the world’s two largest economies, further intensifying trade tensions between China and the U.S.
