Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji stated that the reduction of U.S. international aid is hindering the repatriation of Iraqis from the Al-Hol camp in Syria by the end of 2025.
In an interview with Agence France-Presse, al-Araji explained that the cessation of U.S. support has impacted the work of the organizations involved in transporting Iraqis.
In a related context, he mentioned that Iraq is working to move the remaining individuals in the camp to northern Iraq, urging the international community to cooperate in solving this issue.
Al-Araji also emphasized the need for the withdrawal of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Turkish forces from northern Iraq, should a peace agreement be reached with Ankara.
