Canada has imposed sanctions on Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah Burhan and Rapid Support Forces leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commonly known as “Hemeti,” as well as on the former heads of Sudan’s security apparatus, Salah Abdullah Qush and Mohamed Atta al-Mawla Abbas.
The sanctions include freezing the assets of those involved and prohibiting dealings with their properties. The sanctions also target three entities linked to the army and the Rapid Support Forces. One of them is Sudan Master Technology, a company that manufactures weapons and vehicles for the Sudanese armed forces.
Additionally, the sanctions include Sudanese Air Force commander Altaher Mohamed Alawad Alamin.
