China has declared its support for Egypt’s plan, in collaboration with other Arab countries, to restore peace in the Gaza Strip. The announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a press conference in Beijing, where he emphasized that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian territory and that changing its status by force would not bring peace but rather create new chaos.
Egypt had previously unveiled a comprehensive recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza, coordinated with the Palestinian Authority, to address the humanitarian crisis and extensive destruction in the region while ensuring that the Palestinian people remain in their homeland.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty affirmed that Egypt’s reconstruction plan for Gaza has received broad support from Arab nations and the international community.
Meanwhile, China’s Ambassador to Cairo, Liao Liqiang, expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s mediation efforts in securing a ceasefire in Gaza. He urged the international community to work towards ending the humanitarian crisis in the region.
China and Egypt have also agreed on the importance of promoting peace and negotiations to achieve stability in the Middle East, following a meeting between the two countries’ foreign ministers in Beijing.
