Saudi Arabia to Host U.S.-Ukraine Talks in Jeddah Next Week

The Saudi Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that the Kingdom will host a meeting between U.S. and Ukrainian officials in Jeddah next week, aiming to bolster efforts to end the three-year conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

The ministry reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to doing everything possible to achieve lasting peace and resolve the Ukrainian crisis.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in Jeddah on Monday, ahead of talks with U.S. officials later in the week.

This meeting follows a previous one held in February in Riyadh between U.S. and Russian officials to discuss ways to halt the conflict, which did not include Ukraine, raising concerns in Kyiv and among its European allies.

Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump suspended military aid and intelligence-sharing with Ukraine following a contentious meeting with Zelenskiy at the White House. Subsequently, Russian forces launched a major missile attack on Ukrainian infrastructure, increasing pressure on Kyiv to seek a swift end to the war.

Saudi Arabia’s hosting of these talks represents a significant step in diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region and underscores the Kingdom’s growing role as a mediator in international conflicts.
