The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today, Sunday, that the death toll in clashes on the Syrian coast has exceeded 1000, reaching 1018 as of Saturday evening.

The observatory stated that among the dead were 745 civilians, along with 125 from public security and defense ministry forces, and 148 fighters from remnants of the previous regime and local rebels.
