Latakia, in northwestern Syria, witnessed intense clashes early Saturday between government forces and remnants of the ousted regime after an armed attack targeted the National Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital.
According to a security source quoted by the official Syrian news agency “SANA,” public security forces repelled the attack. Meanwhile, Syrian state television reported heavy fighting between the Syrian army and remnants of the former regime near Ibn Sina Hospital in Latakia.
These clashes come amid ongoing attacks over the past three days, which have resulted in casualties and injuries while targeting six hospitals in the rural areas of Latakia and Tartous, according to the Syrian Ministry of Health. The ministry condemned these attacks as “crimes against humanity,” accusing the assailants of spreading chaos and suffering.
