Today, Sunday, renewed clashes took place between security forces and remnants of the former regime in the countryside of Latakia, while the Ministry of the Interior sent reinforcements to the Qadmous area to ensure the security situation remains stable.

At the same time, communication and internet services in Daraa and Sweida were interrupted due to the cutting of vital cables.

The Syrian authorities also reinforced security forces’ presence in the coastal region following clashes that resulted in the deaths of more than 700 people.

Meanwhile, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara called for national unity and adherence to stability in the country.
