North Korea Launches Ballistic Missiles Amid US-South Korea Military Drills

North Korea launched “several unidentified ballistic missiles” into the sea on Monday, according to South Korean officials.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that the missiles were fired from Hwanghae Province, marking the North’s fifth missile test this year.

Washington and Seoul commenced joint military exercises titled “Freedom Shield,” set to last 11 days, with Pyongyang labeling the drills as a “serious provocative act.”
