Kyiv Shows Willingness to Accept Washington’s Proposal for a 30-Day Ceasefire

Ukraine reported that its talks with the United States held today, Tuesday, in Jeddah made significant progress toward achieving lasting peace.
Ukraine expressed its willingness to accept the U.S. proposal for a 30-day temporary ceasefire, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.

Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that Washington must convince Russia to accept the proposal. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the ball is now in Russia’s court.
The two sides also discussed cooperation on humanitarian aid and prisoner exchanges, and agreed to initiate negotiations for lasting peace.
