Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Al-Shaibani is set to participate in the international donors’ conference for Syria, scheduled to take place on March 17 in Brussels.
The conference, hosted by the European Union, aims to mobilize international support for Syria’s reconstruction efforts and humanitarian aid programs. Al-Shaibani’s participation underscores Syria’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties with the international community and coordinate assistance for the country’s post-conflict recovery.
Reports indicate that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, extended an official invitation to Al-Shaibani during his recent visit to Riyadh.
The annual donor conferences, initiated in 2017, play a key role in securing commitments from international partners to support Syria’s recovery and aid displaced Syrians. The 2024 edition of the event is expected to focus on economic recovery, humanitarian relief, and sustainable development initiatives in Syria and neighboring host countries.
